You know those obnoxious people who say "I love real books too much and I'll never get an e-reader"? Yeah. That was me, until suddenly I was craving a Kindle in the worst way. I talked myself into it and bought Darren, my beautiful Kindle. I've had him for about three weeks and just charged him for the first time. Out of the 9 books I've read so far, 8 of them were on Darren. Regular books look weird to me now.
I do plan on purchasing the actual books for my favorite authors to add to my collection, but other than that I think I will stick with my Kindle. I apologize to everyone who I judged for getting an e-reader. I was rude about my physical books and I'm sorry. You were all right!

I was the same way until receiving a Kindle for my birthday (mine hasn't been named yet). Now I'm in love! He/She ranks right up there with my slanket, which I also highly recommend.
Kindles do indeed rock!
You know what's even better Celeste? Reading your Kindle with your Slanket. That is my perfect Saturday....unfortunately I have the knock-off snuggie, but I would rather have a slanket :)
Oh yeah that's just a given. Now if I could only combine the kindle, the slanket and my bathtub. Perfection!
I purchased one of the newer slankets with a foot pocket inside and a kangaroo type pocket on the front. Got it at qvc.com on easy pay. Check it out.
A foot pocket?? Darn it...good thing it's payday because I think I need that!
Im glad you like it! I have to admit though, I am still one of those annoying people. My mom actually bought me a Kindle (I think it was just so I would quit agonizing over whether or not I would like it!) and it just wasn't the same for me. I missed perusing through used bookstores and I really really missed the smell of books (yeah, Im that much of a dork!). So, I traded it in for an ipod touch and went right out to buy some real books!
Really though, Im glad you like it. I actually wish I was a kindle sort of person, but alas, Im sticking with the old school. :)
I'm not going to lie Crystal, I do miss the bookstore. I walked into Border's a couple days ago and straight up hugged a bookshelf! I probably will buy some books still (favorite authors or series), but I do love the Kindle.
I don't have a kindle but I do have an e-reader and i think it's great! They are so good for going on holiday with as well, the amount of times we have had to pay for excess baggage because I have packed too many books!!
Dot - One of the main reasons I bought the kindle was for travel (even though I do very little traveling). It is always such a pain to have an extra bag just for books...plus they are so heavy!
I felt the same way but I'm beginning to want one. And I love that you named yours!
Darren was the best purchase ever :)
